Ready for INSEL?
INSEL is a general-purpose graphical programming language, which can - in principle - solve any problem of computer simulation.
INSEL provides plenty of well-validated simulation models, which support you in particular with problems on renewable energy systems.
The application fields of INSEL cover the topics solar irradiance simulation, photovoltaics and solar thermal applications. The research centre zafh.net is currently developing simulation models for building energy research, energy management of real estates, data communication.
Here, in the Software area you find an overview of the functionality of the models and data in INSEL. All simulation models are described in more detail in the block reference manual, which can be downloaded in the Download area.
In contrast to algorithmic programming languages like Fortran and C/C++, for instance, INSEL models are written in descriptive code. Therefore, - like in a laboratory environment - you can "wire" and "monitor" systems without having to look after the details of the numerical simulation.
